Celebrate women in cycling on March 11 & 12 with family fun, coaching talks, group rides, and more! We will be hosting an entire weekend of fun for riders of all disciplines.
On Saturday March 11, celebrate at Oak Bay Bikes, get to know other women in cycling, and acknowledge leaders in our community. On Sunday March 12, meet at the parking lot for group rides for all levels and all disciplines - road, gravel, and MTB.

COACHING TALK
Tenille Hoogland of Element Sports Coaching will be starting off the night with a talk, "The Female Athlete: Basics in Training, Nutrition, and Recovery." Listen and learn how to prepare for tomorrow's ride and every ride after that!

Come celebrate and enjoy refreshments, sales, and getting to know amazing women. This is also a great time to chat with our volunteers, find out ride details, and register if you haven’t already.

To end the evening, there will be awards for women in cycling who have made honorable contributions to the community. Come and support these inspiring nominees!

Meet at the parking lot at Oak Bay Bikes and find your group. We will be leading road, gravel, and mountain bike rides for beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders.
free rentals & transportation
Oak Bay Bikes will provide free mountain and gravel bikes for all participants (while supplies last) and free transportation to the trail for MTB participants. Email events@oakbaybikes.com to get started.
bbq lunch
Enjoy a pre-ride coffee and post-ride BBQ lunch! Return from your ride to a freshly grilled burger. We'll try to accommodate all dietary preferences!
BEGINNER CLINICS
Want to try mountain biking?
Karen Ward of Shredher Mountain Biking and Liz Cox of SIMBS will be leading a beginner skills clinic - no experience (or bike) necessary! Oak Bay Bikes will provide free rentals for this class while supplies last. Contact events@oakbaybikes.com to book.
Karen Ward is a certified mountain bike and e-mountain bike instructor, owner/head instructor at Shredher Mountain Biking and Norco Dirt Series Mountain Bike Coach. She is an executive coach and mother to a young mountain biker. Her passion is supporting women to develop skills and confidence on the bike and sharing her love of getting outdoors and riding. There’s no bad day on a bike!
New to road riding?
Coaches from Tripleshot Cycling will be hosting a beginner road clinic which will introduce you to riding in a group, pacelines, and basic skills. No experience necessary!
This clinic is perfect for women looking to enter the world of road riding and is made to transition into the Tripleshot women’s road riding clinic. For more information, email tripleshotclinic@gmail.com.

9:15 AM - Intermediate gravel - 30 km, slightly technical, social pace
9:45 AM - Beginner gravel - 20km, non-technical, social pace
9:00 AM - Van leaves for Hartland
9:30 AM - All MTBs meet at Hartland
9:45 AM - Group MTB rides depart from Hartland parking lot, beginner clinic begins
11:00 AM -1:00 PM - BBQ and giveaways for all participants - Stop by any time!
